CORONAVIRUS: HELPFUL WEBSITES AND LINKS
Everyone has been feeling the effects of the ongoing battle against the Coronavirus or COVID-19 virus that is attacking residents throughout our great country. Like most Americans, we have heard so many different news reports advising us to “prepare” for the upcoming weeks as the numbers of those infected by this virus will increase. The Federal, state and even some local governments have set guidelines for citizens to follow, all attempting to minimize the further spread of this virus.
These new guidelines, which seem to change almost daily, request people change the way they do things in their everyday routines. Many individuals and companies, us included, are now working from our homes in an attempt to limit personal contact with others.
Below we have put together a brief synopsis along with some links that we feel may be helpful to you:
Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Depending on the severity of COVID-19’s international impacts, this outbreak now and in the near future will affect all aspects of our daily life, including work, travel, trade, tourism, food supplies, and financial markets.
To reduce the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak on businesses, workers, customers, and the public, it is important for all employers to act now for COVID-19 virus. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) developed this COVID-19 planning guidance webpage, based on traditional infection prevention and industrial hygiene practices. It focuses on the need for employers to implement engineering, administrative, and work practice controls and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, as well as considerations for doing so.
